Inspired by a poem written by my father, an artillery soldier defending Ukraine since 2022, “In the Loving Arms” is an oil painting rooted in Orthodox iconography. It honors those who have died for freedom, transforming their sacrifice into a sacred act. The embrace symbolizes both grief and sanctity—reflecting a line from his poem:

Find themselves gently held
